Free Meals for 2023-24 School Year

Students Receive Free Meals for 2023-24 School Year
Posted on 08/23/2023
Clover Park School District has received approval to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students for the 2023-24 school year. Families do not need to complete a Free/Reduced School Meal Application this school year for eligibility.

“We are pleased to receive approval for all of our CPSD schools to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and provide nutritious meals for our students free of charge,” said Superintendent Ron Banner. “Food insecurity impacts many students and families in our area. By removing this barrier, we are ensuring students will start the school day with the energy needed to focus on learning.”

What do Families Need to do?

Families are not required to submit a Free/Reduced School Meal Application.

However, all CPSD families will receive an email from Inform K12 with a Family Income Survey on Monday, Aug. 28, to be completed for their household. Surveys should be completed by Friday, Sept. 15.

Why Should My Family Complete the Survey?

Currently, nearly 70 percent of CPSD students are eligible for free/reduced priced meals. Many state and federal programs and grants are based on free/reduced price meal numbers and provide additional funding to schools for educational resources and support to meet student needs.

Completing this survey allows for CPSD to collect this necessary funding and ensures eligible students receive a reduction in fees for academic and extracurricular activities.
